Chartreuse Orbs

Couldn't resist. These big o' tasty chartreuse green beads practically screamed out at me from the website I saw them on, so I had to buy them. The beads are 22mm - just under 1" round. I've paired them here with two small square glass beads and a length of oxidized chain. They dangle a shoulder-dusting 3.25" total. Tasty, no? I call them (cleverly enough) Chartreuse Orbs and they are available in my Etsy shop.

I'm on a Vintage Lucite Bender

I admit it, I fell in love. I love the color, the design, the size. The second I saw these vintage Lucite flowers I knew exactly what the rings would look like. There you go. These wonderful burnt-orange (what? pansies?) flowers are big, but lightweight. They are riveted to a heavy gauge sterling band. Fun, but sort of sophisticated too. Definitely love. I bought all they had, which was only a few. I call it the Lamore Ring.

Then, I saw these too groovy beach-ballish, chinese-lanterny, fluted beads and I had to have them too. I've paired them with a long, slender brass tab. The are called Riviera Earrings in my Etsy shop. They make my jewelry making heart sing! Unfortunately I was too slow on the uptake. I only got a few when I saw them; when I went back... gone. All gone. I nearly cried - until I found other Lucite cuties.

Now: No. More. Supplies. I have WAY too much in the house and need to make with what I have before I allow myself to spend on anything else. Really.

Riddle Earrings - Chartreuse

Another creation from the metal thingees I got at the hardware store. These Riddle Earrings have a wonderful chartreuse bead. I just love the yummy color, and the shape reflects the steel disc and the holes. I used oxidized earwires with them for a bit of contrast. Of course, any bead can be used. Because the discs are so light, even a larger bead wouldn't make them too heavy for comfortable wear. There is something about these found discs that I really dig. I guess I'm just a circle person. Or maybe I'm holey.

Wishing for the Sun

De La Sol Earrings. A splash of sunshine of bright yellow fluted glass rounds and vintage Lucite cylinders. Hanging on rectangular oxidized sterling wires. Available in my Etsy shop.

Garden Necklace

Ok, so I think of it as the Peas and Carrots Necklace, but I couldn't bring myself to call it that. It's officially Garden Necklace. I love the warm coral color of the vintage Lucite. I added cool green howlite beads on the chain for a perfect summery mix. The howlite is graduated up the chain for visual interest. Might have to keep it for myself, but for now it's available in my Etsy shop.

Yummy New Beads!

I got magnetically sucked into the bead store the other day and found these bright lovelies. I think a gray, rainy day had me attracted to the springy colors. They were so pretty all together that I just had to take a couple of pictures. They are a mix of vintage Lucite and new glass. Can't wait to start creating fun jewelry with these!
