Dotted Leaf Earrings

New(!) listing in my Etsy shop. These lovelies are riveted sterling dangles that I've sold at the Portland Saturday Market for a while, but have just now listed online.

I'm making an effort to list more of the new(ish) items I have on Etsy and not just keep them for the Market.*

Dotted Hoop Earrings

Well, to say I haven't posted new items to my Etsy shop in a long time is an understatement. It's not for a lack of new designs. It's more pure, unadulterated laziness. Really. Photoing, writing a clever description, getting it together; it hasn't been happening. Not that these items haven't been for sale, on the contrary. They've just been available in my booth at the Portland Saturday Market.
Late last week I finally put it together for a couple of new designs. Here's one: Dotted Hoop Earrings. Sweet hammered sterling hoops adorned with heat-formed rivets, now in my Etsy shop. They are actually part of a small line; I also have dotted leaf shapes and dotted bars. Maybe someday I'll get around to photoing them too...

Large Spiral Earrings

Another earring design that I've been making for quite a while (yes, I tell people *I* invented the spiral - and, yes, some people believe me), but have never listed in my Etsy shop. That is until now. Sterling silver Large Spiral Earrings: big, bold, spirally. A popular seller for me at the Portland Saturday Market, now available online.

Chartreuse Orbs

Couldn't resist. These big o' tasty chartreuse green beads practically screamed out at me from the website I saw them on, so I had to buy them. The beads are 22mm - just under 1" round. I've paired them here with two small square glass beads and a length of oxidized chain. They dangle a shoulder-dusting 3.25" total. Tasty, no? I call them (cleverly enough) Chartreuse Orbs and they are available in my Etsy shop.

Cube Studs

I don't usually make little, tiny things. Most of what I make leans toward the chunky, dangly, bigger side. (Guess it's because I'm big.) I had a smaller piece of some heavy square stock and thought how cute it would be to saw off little squares of it and make little posted studs. VoilĂ !

I think they are so cute. Solid sterling squares that are 1/8" on a side. I call them Cube Studs. Available in my Etsy shop.

Valerie Earrings

I love when my customers suggest something that's a great idea that didn't necessarily occur to me. I created a necklace that used these elongated riveted loop elements with a bead as part of the chain. The customer asked if I make earrings like that. *doh!* Well, I do now! I currently have them available with three different beads: a warm, orangy red aventurine, a cool green aventurine and sweet yellow jade (see photo). I've oxidized the loop, then tumbled it for a nice gun-metal grey. The earwires wrap around the top. A design that I'd like to think is sort of unique. I call them Valerie Earrings and they are available in my Etsy shop.

Festival Carnelian Earrings

Brand new! Bezel set 8mm carnelians are the focus of these fun danglies. I'm liking this design and may expand it to necklaces. Guess I'm just partial to curly things...

I call them Festival Carnelian Earrings and they are available in my Etsy shop.

Sway Earrings - Bevels

Created from the bevel pieces used for making beveled glass windows, these new earrings catch and refract the light. They are foiled and soldered using the stained glass technique. I've hung the 1" squares on the corner for a bit of diagonal dash.

Although they are glass, they aren't too heavy, but have a nice weight. Another addition to my Sway Earring line, these Bevels are available in my Etsy shop.

More Chiaroscuro

I so like the contrast of the oxidized vs. non-oxidized sterling together in one piece, that I've created some simple yet striking earrings that feature this. Pictured here are the bigger hoops - still only about .75" - of the two sizes of these that I've made. I'm also liking the pairing of the basic, plain hoop with an earwire that's just a little out of the ordinary. The hammered wrap still allows the hoop to swing, but it's something different than the usual wire. This line is called Chiaroscuro (Italian for the play of light and dark). These are called Chiaroscuro Hoop Earrings - Bigger. Find them in my Etsy shop. A slightly smaller version is also there.

Aperture Earrings

A new series of inexpensive earrings I've recently created based on simple earwire designs that have a small gap (or aperture) that is gently flexed to the side to slip onto the earlobe. They are all available in my Etsy shop.

Chiaroscuro Twist Earrings

I'm really fond of the look of tumbled oxidized sterling. It becomes a stunning, shiny gunmetal grey. Here is what I hope is the first in a series of pieces that contrast the gunmetal of the oxidation with non-oxidized sterling, both brought to a high shine. The word chiaroscuro is Italian meaning the play of light and dark. It usually refers to painting and drawing (Caravaggio is a prime example), but I thought it was fitting here too. I call these Chiaroscuro Twist Earrings and they are available in my Etsy shop.

Geometry Earrings

New design. They weren't originally supposed to be asymmetrical, but hey, design happens. With the first one I put together, the larger ring was just a bit too small to sit directly half and half through the rectangular piece. It really worked for me. Guess I'm just an asymmetrical kind of gal! They sat on my bench a couple of days while I picked an earwire I liked and decided to go with the loops I use a lot because I liked that they reflect the circles. Repeating patterns are another of my design fallbacks. I'm liking the strong clean lines and the high polish of these earrings. I call them Geometry Earrings and they are available in my Etsy shop.

Make A Wish Earrings

Brand new! These lovely and simply elegant posted earrings are wishbone shaped. When I was a kid, it was considered a privilege at the dinner table to be picked to break the wishbone and make a wish. (no, there weren't like 10 of us, only 3, but I was the littlest) Here is my modern interpretation of my pre-vegetarian-days talisman. Sterling and shiny, the Make A Wish Earrings are available in my Etsy shop.

Spot Curl Earrings

I got a custom order for my Speck Earrings, but without the stone. While I was playing with them, I thought it would be groovy (Yes, I still say groovy.) to have them curl around. So were born a very simple, yet stylish pair of earrings called Spot Curl.

Ok, so the name isn't so clever - ya gots a spot and ya gots a curl: spot curl - but they are dang cute. As I've been out and about, wearing my pair, I've gotten loads of compliments. The other cool thing is you can wear them backwards for just a simple wire look (don't have a photo yet). They're my new favorites.

Everyday Loops

Years ago, I had a very simple pair of small hoop earrings that I wore all the time. Like 24/7. Sleeping, showering, whatever, they could be left in, so I always had earrings on even when I wasn't thinking about it. The other day I was digging through my earrings looking for a pair that met those criteria: simple, sturdy, hooked closed, plain but with a smidge of style. Sort of a fancy earwire. Couldn't find anything that I wanted, so I made some*. This is what I've come up with. I call them Everyday Loops (and they are, of course, available in my Etsy shop). I'm big and I have lots of hair, I wanted something bigger than the old pair I used to wear so they had some presence on me. I've also made a smaller pair for those that like it like that. I'll have pictures of the smaller ones in my shop soon.

*I love that I can do that!

I'm on a Vintage Lucite Bender

I admit it, I fell in love. I love the color, the design, the size. The second I saw these vintage Lucite flowers I knew exactly what the rings would look like. There you go. These wonderful burnt-orange (what? pansies?) flowers are big, but lightweight. They are riveted to a heavy gauge sterling band. Fun, but sort of sophisticated too. Definitely love. I bought all they had, which was only a few. I call it the Lamore Ring.

Then, I saw these too groovy beach-ballish, chinese-lanterny, fluted beads and I had to have them too. I've paired them with a long, slender brass tab. The are called Riviera Earrings in my Etsy shop. They make my jewelry making heart sing! Unfortunately I was too slow on the uptake. I only got a few when I saw them; when I went back... gone. All gone. I nearly cried - until I found other Lucite cuties.

Now: No. More. Supplies. I have WAY too much in the house and need to make with what I have before I allow myself to spend on anything else. Really.
